OFFICIAL: Chelsea Unveil Aubameyang's Jersey Number After Joining The Blues From Barcelona
Chelsea have confirmed the jersey number of their new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese striker joins Chelsea from Spanish La Liga side Barcelona on transfer deadline day.
The Chelsea new signing will don the number 9 jersey, a number previously worn by Romelu Lukaku before going on loan back to Inter Milan.]
Chelsea confirmed the signing of Aubameyang with an official statement released on their website.
"Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has completed a permanent transfer from Barcelona to Chelsea," the club confirm.
"The experienced forward joins the Blues on a two-year contract and becomes the sixth senior signing of the summer window to bolster our men’s squad following a seven-month stay at Camp Nou. He scored 13 goals in 23 appearances for Barca last term, helping them rise from sixth in La Liga when he joined in February to finish as runners-up."
On becoming a Chelsea player, Aubameyang said: ‘I’m really happy. It’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start. I have some unfinished business with the Premier League so it’s good to be back and really exciting.’
